Christopher Mohr, Executive Director

Chris has been executive director of the Housing Leadership Council of San Mateo County since February 2003. He has organized the annual Housing Leadership Day conference six times, advocated for the creation of 3,846 new homes, including 1,111 which are affordable to low wage-earning and middle-income households, and created the annual Affordable Housing Week San Mateo County, which was held for the seventh time in May 2009.

Chris also serves as executive director for the Housing Endowment And Regional Trust, the HEART of San Mateo County. HEART raises public and private funds to meet critical housing needs in San Mateo County. HEART has invested $7.25 million in development of 662 new homes, and created a new homebuyer assistance program in mid-2008. Currently all 20 cities plus the County of San Mateo participate in HEART.

In his previous position as the director of fund development for the Tenderloin Neighborhood Development Corporation (TNDC) in San Francisco, Mohr gained nearly eight years’ experience with housing and community advocacy. During his time, TNDC more than doubled the number of housing units it owns, from 740 to 1,570. A member of the Religious Society of Friends (Quakers), Mohr has a bachelors degree in physics from Princeton University.

Josh joined HLC in August 2009. Following a nearly 20-year career in semiconductor engineering, Josh decided to make a transition to public service, and obtained a master's degree in public administration from San Jose State University in fall 2009. Before coming to HLC, he held several internships with San Mateo and Santa Clara Counties. Josh is an active community volunteer and serves on the Community Relations Commission for the City of San Mateo. He holds an undergraduate degree from Rensselaer Polytechnic Institute.

Sherri Stevenson, HEART Administrative Assistant

Sherri joined HLC in September 2005 to assist with the administrative aspects of HEART. She previously served as the office coordinator of Peninsula Habitat for Humanity and is happy to continue working to help solve housing needs in San Mateo County. Sherri graduated from California State Polytechnic University with degrees in English and Education.
