Saturday, May 7th
10:00 AM - 12:00 PM:Sustainable Communities Strategy (SCS) Community Outreach Event. As part of the landmark legislation SB 375, tremendous amounts of state and federal funding will be channeled into creating more sustainable communities. Come learn how regional housing and transportation plans contained in the upcoming Sustainable Communities Strategy will affect local "communities of concern." Learn how you can get involved and ensure your community will be transformed without displacing those that live there.
4:00 PM - 5:30 PM:Cedar Street Supportive Housing Groundbreaking. Come join us as we celebrate the groundbreaking of this 14-unit development, which will provide badly needed supportive housing to some of the most vulnerable in our community. Located near El Camino, it will also allow for tenants to have easy access to benefits of the Grand Boulevard Initiative.

NHORA is pleased to invite your attendance to the May 12th, Luncheon Presentation of The Bay Area Latino Report, the first in a series of NHORA lead presentations featuring bay area leaders in dialog to offer solutions to the issues of our day.
This panel presentation will address the affordability in housing and jobs imbalance with an emphasis on political representation, the role of non-profits, and the Latino entrepreneurial spirit.
Our featured speakers will pose issues and solutions bringing light to our community and invite further exploration of the talents and resources our population has to offer.
We are honored to participate in The Housing Leadership Council program for Affordable Housing Week in San Mateo County to address affordability/sustainability issues within the Latino Community and welcome your participation within the NHORA network of professionals as we work together to empower our community and plant the seeds for change.

10:00 AM - 12:00 PM:Downtown Redwood City Transit and Housing Tour. An opportunity to get an in-depth and up-close look at Redwood City's plan to create a vibrant, 24-hour downtown. Housing will be a critical component of this vision. Redwood City Downtown Development Director, Dan Zack, will be showing tour members current examples of successful housing that into fits this plan and explain how it complements all the other components that makes downtown Redwood City one of the jewels of the peninsula.
